Success Story: Rhotochia A.J. Is a Balance of Nature Queen

“I don’t think so negatively anymore. Very little thoughts of negativity, but all this comes together when you’re eating, you’re moving, you have the right things in your system, so this is just what happens. Life just gets better for you. And I have to truly say, I’m grateful for being one that really took the first step to say, ‘Let me try.’”

Rhotochia A.J. lives a plant-based lifestyle and has always recognized the importance of staying active. She attends plays in her free time and would like to travel more.

Learning about Nutrition

Rhotochia believes that we are what we eat.

“Our body is whatever we feed our body—that’s what it becomes,” she explains. “I realized that my brain really actually depends on the food I eat and the vegetables I eat. So, fruits and vegetables are very important. I really started learning about nutrition, too. After I started seeking better help, I learned that whole food, plant-based, that every fruit, every vegetable carries its own countenance.”

She continues, “I was not eating a variety, but now I eat a variety of fruits and vegetables. And that’s really good because now my taste buds have expanded, and now I get the opportunity to share the journey with other people.”

Rhotochia learned the importance of healthy eating and taking care of herself.

She says, “You have to look at now: how can I take better care of myself? So it’s like I got the revelation, you know? If I eat poorly, I’m going to have bad health. But if I eat healthy, I’m going to have better health. And I believe that’s when I started looking for that transition in my life.”

And, although many people say eating healthy is hard on the go, Rhotochia says she learned that everywhere you go, there’s a salad!

Rhotochia Stays Hydrated and Eats Plant-Based

Rhotochia says that drinking water is also key to taking care of herself.

“I want to be able to age and still be able to walk, to be able to not use a cane and a walker that people use because sometimes they haven’t taken proper care of their body by eating the proper things. Having fruits and vegetables and maintaining the hydration of the water—the water is also key.”

She says she didn’t always drink much water and wasn’t aware of how dehydrated she was. She also doesn’t eat meat, which she feels good about.

“So I drink my water, I eat my fruits and my vegetables, and no meat,” Rhotochia shares. “No meat on the plate, and I really tell you the truth, it feels good. I feel good inside out. I used to say that, but I didn’t feel that way, but now I do because I understand really what it feels like to wake up in the morning and not have your stomach feeling so full and bloated from eating processed and all those other types of foods. Eating plants and vegetables—eating plants and fruits—that’s really the key.”

Rhotochia says she also does breathing exercises in addition to now avoiding processed foods, junk food, oil, and fried foods. Rhotochia participated in a program that introduced her to a whole food, plant-based lifestyle where she learned how to eat and pick out vegetables and fruits at markets to feed her brain and body what they need.

“So this is really like a game changer for me, and I feel like, you know, a new lease on life,” she says. “Everything is working together because I’m putting the connections of the fruit, the vegetables, the water, and the movement.”

Another Key Part: Get Moving!

Rhotochia also recognizes the importance of being active. She is sure to stretch and avoid sitting for long periods of time throughout the day.

“You have to wake your body up early. You do it one step at a time. It’s not an overnight success story because I didn’t have one, but I realized that when one thing started working, I needed to shift and create something else. So it’s just compiling good stuff on top of good stuff.”

Rhotochia starts her day early. She’ll leave by about 6:30 a.m. and walk to the park to do some laps and stretches.

“Sometimes I’ll walk from this neighborhood to another neighborhood, which is about an hour, hour and a half, because I like to sightsee. I like to see the trees. I like to see nature. I’m a nature person. I see things that sometimes I haven’t paid attention to before because of the fact that I’m thinking more clearly. I’m able to really be as active as I humanly possibly can.”

She continues, “To be able to move is beautiful, to be able to walk is beautiful, to be able to even speak when you want to speak, walk, and climb the steps to the train station.”

To Rhotochia, walking is the best kind of exercise.

“It was important to me to get out to this park to find people to talk to and walk around and just get the movement going. I didn’t want to be isolated. Walking out and just getting that air is so good for you, like early morning air is good. You know, I like that early morning air. The walking solitude is not a lot of cars on the street, and not a lot of noise on the street. So you could just move and think, move and think, and it’s not a lot of confusion and distraction going on like in the busyness of the day.”

Conquer Fear by Asking

Rhotochia explains that the healthier you are, the more excited you are to move. However, that is hard when you are too unhealthy to move.

“I wanted to help myself, but I didn’t know how to do it. And we don’t! We’re afraid to ask the question. We walk around with the fear of knowing that this way is not going to be conducive for us long down the road. But how do we stop that insanity and get some help? And I really believe that just asking for help, it’s really the first step, and the food, and then movement, and now just enjoying life. This is what it is about.”

She adds, “I know it’s difficult to just shift your eating and lifestyle, but really do it because we are what we eat—fully on.”

Change Is a Positive Thing

Rhotohcia says she feels more positive.

“I don’t think so negatively anymore,” she shares. “Very little thoughts of negativity, but all this comes together when you’re eating, you’re moving, you have the right things in your system, so this is just what happens. Life just gets better for you. And I have to truly say, I’m grateful for being one that really took the first step to say, ‘Let me try.’”

She continues, “This has been really like a wonderful journey, positive all the way. And just knowing that, from the inside out, I feel great. That’s the beauty of it. Knowing that you feel good and you have a positive mindset and that, you know, the sky’s the limit for what you want to do.”

Starting Balance of Nature Supplements and Enjoying Retirement

Rhotochia refers to herself as a Balance of Nature queen. Before Rhotochia started taking Balance of Nature supplements, she was hesitant because she thought people were paid to give testimonials. “Then I said, ‘Well, you know what, why don’t you try the supplements and stop saying that?’ And then I tried them, and I was surprised.”

Rhotochia used to take her Balance of Nature supplements to work, but now she is enjoying retirement with them.

“When I started Balance of Nature supplements, I was working for a police department as an administrative assistant. Now I am currently retired, and in this retirement, I am enjoying my life: I’m on a whole food, plant-based diet, and I’m excited about life. I’m looking at this as a new journey.”

She discovered that she prefers taking the supplements at night before going to bed.

She shares, “This is really something that I really encourage people to really try.”
