Success Story Feature—Trevis Averett
Trevis Averett has lived in Sanford, North Carolina, with his wife for 46 years and has been a Balance of Nature customer since 2007. Trevis enjoys working out—specifically aerobics, cycling, and yoga. Balance of Nature is one of the main things Trevis uses to recover from his activities.
Having an office job, Trevis realized by the time he was around 30 that his body was changing and he needed to do something. He needed more endurance and strength. At first, he lifted weights. He later began running and eventually joined the YMCA.
Trevis hurt his back in his early 30s, but he still enjoys group exercise. He has even participated in workout programs like Insanity and TRX.
He discovered Balance of Nature through the niece of Balance of Nature’s founder and formulator, Dr. Douglas Howard*. She was an instructor at the YMCA who Trevis sometimes ran with. He started taking Balance of Nature after listening to a presentation from Dr. Howard.
Trevis said Balance of Nature is the one product he wouldn’t want to give up. “I feel like Balance of Nature is one of the most important things I take . . . , and I take a lot of things.”
He likes all the phytonutrients in it and that it’s different from other products that are extracted: Balance of Nature is simply whole food.
Balance of Nature Fruits & Veggies contain 31 flash dried fruits and vegetables, specifically selected for maintaining, protecting, and repairing. Balance of Nature Fiber & Spice is a revolutionary fiber drink with whole psyllium husk, whole apple, whole monkfruit, flaxseed, and a blend of 12 spices. Fruits, vegetables, and other plant foods provide the vital chemistry our bodies need to defend and repair themselves. We keep all of the chemistry—the seeds, skin, core, and color—in our produce. We only remove the water and air.
In 2016, Trevis had to receive treatment for a health condition. At one point, medical professionals advised him to stop taking Balance of Nature because it could skew the results. But once he explained to the hospital team that it was just food—fruits and vegetables—they agreed that he could take it. He believes Balance of Nature has helped him considerably, including increasing his energy.
Balance of Nature provides overall health and wellness to Trevis. “You want to be as healthy as you can with those years that you have, and I think that's a good way to do it—with fruits and vegetables . . . .”
“I would recommend Balance of Nature because it’s all-natural, it’s just food, [and] it’s processed in [such a way] . . . [that it] retains nutrition in a way that the foods you eat otherwise . . . [do] not,” he says.
Trevis believes diet is the most important aspect to health and wellness.
“All of us have trouble eating a noninflammatory diet,” he says. For instance, Trevis eats out most of the time so he doesn’t always have control over what goes into what he eats. “One good meal doesn't fix one bad meal—it takes a lot to overcome that, so I take [Balance of Nature].”
Trevis believes a lot of national health problems, such as obesity, may come from eating too many processed and artificial foods. The less of them you consume, the better you’ll be health-wise, he says.
He warns that marketing words used on products such as “natural” are just a ploy and don't always mean that the product is natural. Foods that are not extracted—like Balance of Nature—should be prioritized over things that are.
Trevis keeps track of how many Fruits & Veggies bottles he has gone through; he has taken over 260 sets! Trevis takes 6 Fruits and 6 Veggies a day. He has shared the product with family and friends over the years, as well.
Things that are crucial to Trevis’ health have become part of his routine—things like taking Balance of Nature! He wants to enjoy his health and strength for as long as possible, and Balance of Nature is a big part of the game plan.
