Lest We Forget

Lest We Forget

A Memorial Day Message of Gratitude

By Karla Seamons and Taylor Brunson

Memorial Day weekend is perfectly positioned as a launch for summertime fun. As we plan our barbecues and beach days, let’s not forget the reason for Memorial Day: honoring the men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice to protect our way of life. Balance of Nature recognizes the importance of Memorial Day and remembers those who have fallen during their service in the United States Armed Forces.

We invite you to take time this weekend to honor these individuals. Here are some suggestions:

  • Talk about your loved ones or ancestors who gave their lives for us. Share their stories. They are loved and missed, but not forgotten.

  • Visit or send messages to Gold Star families who have lost loved ones during active duty.

  • Search your ancestry to find your relatives who served and sacrificed.

  • Visit a cemetery and look for headstones engraved with military rankings, or find where your ancestor is buried through the Veterans Legacy Memorial Website.

  • Honor the fallen through service.

  • Teach the next generation about the nation our heroes fought to protect.

We can never express enough gratitude to those who gave everything for our benefit. As a small act, Balance of Nature partners with United We Pledge, whose mission is to provide best-in-class educational platforms and interactive programs that will educate, inspire, and empower families and communities to protect their liberties.

As we enjoy the freedoms safeguarded by those who served, let us carry their legacy forward; not just on Memorial Day, but every day. Whether through remembrance, service, or education, each of us can play a part in honoring their sacrifice. Balance of Nature is proud to stand with organizations like United We Pledge in fostering a deeper appreciation for the values these heroes defended. This Memorial Day, may we all find meaningful ways to remember, reflect, and give thanks—lest we forget their sacrifice.
