Balance of Nature and United We Pledge Make Impact at Black Desert Championship

By Taylor Brunson

The Black Desert Championship was an exciting local event that Balance of Nature was proud to participate in. Held in early October, the Black Desert Championship highlighted the first PGA TOUR event held in Utah in over 60 years. Balance of Nature was the premier partner for this event, highlighting the company’s support of active lifestyles and involvement in their community.

Balance of Nature’s CEO, Lex Howard, said, “Balance of Nature is more than the distributor of whole food supplements. We’re an enthusiastic group of individuals who strive for healthy living and advocate for active lifestyles. We continuously look for ways to support our community here in St. George, and we really enjoyed being a part of the Black Desert Championship.”

United We Pledge, a close partner of Balance of Nature, was also heavily involved in the Black Desert Championship. United We Pledge is an organization that provides “best-in-class educational platforms, learning destinations, and patriotic celebrations focused on the history and core principles of our nation’s founding documents.” Through Balance of Nature’s sponsorship of the Black Desert Championship, United We Pledge was able to receive the charity of choice designation for the event.

One of United We Pledge’s core projects is Liberty Village, a colonial-style park themed around American history that will be built in Hurricane, Utah. It will serve as the main destination for United We Pledge’s education efforts. Due to the project’s magnitude, Liberty Village is now its own 501(c)(3). At the Black Desert Championship, United We Pledge and Balance of Nature hosted the Liberty Lounge in association with Liberty Village. One thousand guests were invited to the Liberty Lounge free of charge, many of whom were local teachers, first responders, and veterans, to enjoy the championship in person and build better community relationships.

The visitors of Liberty Lounge had the opportunity to learn about United We Pledge’s programs, goals, and initiatives. Additionally, there was an opening for donations and school sign-ups for the Give Me Liberty program. This program will allow United We Pledge to visit local schools and educate the youth. United We Pledge was awarded $200,000 for being the Black Desert Championship’s charity of choice and given a $70,000 food truck to support Liberty Village.

These funds will provide support for the growth of the Give Me Liberty program and will ultimately allow for the education of more fifth-grade youth. This is only the first semester of this program’s launch, and there are so many schools for United We Pledge to collaborate with as the program continues.

It’s important for Balance of Nature and United We Pledge to be involved with local events such as the Black Desert Championship because “community outreach and involvement furthers our mission and provides opportunities for us to connect with parents, teachers, veterans, and more. This is critical to get the support we need to further our initiatives,” says Lisa Hunt, Marketing Director of United We Pledge.

The Black Desert Championship marked a momentous occasion for both Balance of Nature and United We Pledge, allowing them to strengthen their presence in the community and further their shared commitment to health, education, and patriotic values. With the funds raised and the connections made through this event, United We Pledge will continue to expand its Give Me Liberty program, bringing essential educational opportunities to more schools. For Balance of Nature, this partnership reflects their ongoing dedication to supporting local initiatives and promoting active, healthy lifestyles, making their participation in the championship both impactful and meaningful for the St. George community.
