Balance of Nature Supports KUTV Cares’ Diaper Drive

By Taylor Brunson

At Balance of Nature, we believe that supporting families is one of the most meaningful ways to strengthen communities. That’s why we are a trusted partner of KUTV Cares for the 5th annual 2News Diaper Drive—an initiative dedicated to helping Utah families facing diaper insecurity.

Why It Matters

Diaper insecurity is a challenge that often goes unseen, yet it affects 1 in 3 families. Research shows that for many parents, keeping an adequate supply of diapers can cost over $100 per month. That financial burden forces difficult trade-offs, sometimes between basic necessities like food and hygiene. Many parents who struggle to get an adequate amount of diapers also struggle with accessing childcare, which can lead to missed work and lost income, deepening financial strain.

Through this important Diaper Drive, donations directly benefit the Utah Food Bank Diaper Program, helping offer peace of mind for families in need. Balance of Nature has a long-term commitment to work alongside other community-minded organizations to make a tangible difference in the lives of parents and their children.

The Impact

The impact of even a small contribution is significant. For every $10 donated, a family can receive 25 to 50 diapers for the month. That support doesn’t just ease financial stress; it also contributes to the increased well-being of children. Studies show that when families have access to clean diapers, instances of diaper rash decrease by 33%, and babies experience 77% fewer days with discomfort from diaper rash. Providing this essential resource helps create a healthier, more stable environment for children to grow and thrive.

How To Help

Make an immediate impact by getting involved and supporting the Diaper Drive. Community members can donate diapers in person at participating locations, including any Mr. Mac location and Canyon View Credit Union branches throughout Utah. A number of events throughout April provided opportunities for the community to donate, including the 2News Diaper Drive on April 17, as well as local soccer matches that helped support the effort.

For those who prefer to give from home, there is a critical need for monetary donations, which can be made online. Every dollar raised goes directly toward purchasing diapers for families in need, ensuring that contributions are used where they matter most.

This effort runs through Mother’s Day, May 10, 2026, making it a meaningful way to honor and support mothers across Utah. This partnership is one expression of our commitment to changing lives through community-wide efforts and connection.

Act now and join us in supporting the 2News Diaper Drive. Together, we can help ensure that every child has access to something simple, yet essential. Balance of Nature will continue seeking meaningful ways to support our community long after this drive ends.
